Desford Flyers
Rules and Regulations are boring but necessary.
Model aircraft and helicopters are dangerous and are capable of causing severe injuries.
Also all flying in United Kingdom airspace is governed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), therefore there is a legal requirement to follow regulations.
For these reasons the rules of the British Model Flying Association are followed by all members of the club, and it is a requirement for club membership that all flyers should be members of the B.M.F.A. which provides third party insurance.
A club specific rule is that on leaving the site, drivers should turn left onto the public road due to the closeness of a sharp bend.
If you fly a model
outdoors that weighs
over 250 grams, you must
be registered as an
operator with the CAA.
The BMFA make this very
straightforward.
